About Chef Brett Smith
I grew up in Iowa sitting down with my family every night for dinner, no matter how busy our schedules were. My mother and grandmothers on both sides were excellent cooks and I was blessed with a childhood surrounded by plenty of delicious food to eat.
I started working in restaurant kitchens when I was 14 and never looked back. I took my first Executive Chef position at age 22 before moving to New York City to work for the Momofuku restaurant group (Ma Peche in Midtown and Ssam Bar in the East Village).
After several years in NYC, I moved to New Jersey with my wife to start a family. In NJ, I’ve worked for the leading natural and organic retail market in the country on their leadership team as well as for a leading sustainable meat company.
Through it all, the most tangible experience gained in my time in New Jersey was with 7+ years of being with a boutique catering company specializing in private dinners and events throughout New Jersey, New York City, the Hamptons, and Connecticut. That is where I fell in love with creating amazing dining experiences for people from the comfort of their own homes.
In March of 2021, I took another big leap and started my own business specializing in my own private dinner parties and customized meals for busy families during the week.
